Collaboration between Jenela Kostova and Marte van Haaster
“convicted object” - mixed media

This blanket is mass produced and exported worldwide.
We all know what it is used for.
But do we really know what the use of a blanket could be?

When looking at performance, audience often plays similar role as the background the performer is in front of. They are both equally passive towards the act.
Yet the spectator tends to project sentiment onto the used props, influenced by the context created from the performer and hereby shifting its identity.

This model of blanket was used as a backdrop for a social media statement of extremist religion organization.
